If you expect any Social Science graduate to understand the Scientific method, "... basic calculus, probability and statistics, let alone basic knowledge of Physics ..." you are deluded. Some (very few ) may, but most, includng most PoliSci graduates, use the "Scientific" element of their title as an illegitimate claim to scientific rigour that they can in no way justify. Science is not a game, to be played by Politicians, Journalists, and suchlike scum - it is a rather constrained game, played by rather strict rules, and with limited applicability in the social world. The Science of Man is but a small sliver of human experiences - activities - and problems.
