what i think i may get is this. gop voters are saying "you know anyone can do bad things, then reform, have a change of heart..." and that list of "bad things" is large, although undefined. but this is how the they justify it. "Well that was then but look now, he's praying like he should be doing...he's reformed. carry on then!"

but on the other hand if you say "Ok look I was just born this way, this is who I am. I can't change that!" ...

Well that's democrat territory. this of course means that person can't be redeemed and are intrinsically evil.
