The state that does this of course will not. Here the students were taught that it was 'the Germans' who supported Hitler who were all guilty also. It was through discussion with my husband that I learned how much more nuanced it was. Not all 'wanted' to go along, but did at first because it didn't seem so bad, then later because to not was to stick your neck out and risk your own family also (it was too late to easily 'take a stand').
