Although this thread is not intended as a discussion of the origins of COVID-19, I thought readers of Sinocism would be interested in following one trail of evidence that has led to the lab-leak theory revival.

The Chinese M.A. thesis referenced in the journal article below (in fn. 7) is also posted online in translation, and reading it gives one the uncanny feeling that the author was documenting (unknowingly, in 2013!) the first known cases of COVID-19. The lab connection to the Mojiang cave becomes apparent in the events that followed the deaths of the miners.
