A very good post. I think that we have tended to underestimate both Xi’s, the CCP’s and China’s overall resilience, but the author is correct that China’s long-range concerns are unavoidable in the next 10-15 years. I don’t foresee a collapse but the risk of Japan-like sluggishness and stagnation is problematic if the long-term issues get put off, or kicked down the road.
