Several thoughts. The AMA is a political outfit, how much influence they have over the individual physician is difficult to assess. Yet, many factors come into play. As you point out physicians should be carefully evaluated. No better example than the recent Covid Hysteria. Here are my guidelines: " Whoever wishes to foresee the future must consult the past; for human events ever resemble those of preceding times. This arises from the fact that they are produced by men who ever have been, and ever shall be, animated by the same passions, and thus they necessarily have the same results."
Niccolo Machiavelli "When tremendous dangers are involved, no one can be blamed for looking to his own interest."
Thucydides "A married man with a family will do anything for money."
Charles Maurice de Talleyrand "It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it."
Upton Sinclair
