The app for independent voices

Yes. That reminds me of a shoe company in Canada. My partner and I went in for her to buy shoes. I rarely buy shoes although this time my partner wanted me to get a new pair. We looked around the store and eventually were forced to ask "Where are the men's shoes". "Sorry. We don't sell men's shoes anymore. Someone figured out that they only accounted for 20% of sales and so decided it wasn't worth while to sell them anymore." We discussed the craziness of that. The shop keeper agreed. Two years later the once long-lived store went out of business.

And a similar story with Safeways in the years leading up to its bankruptcy. The first time I saw it was in the late 1980s with the bankrupting of a long lived provincial supermarket and the enrichment of the management who failed it in less than 5 years after taking it over from the family.

And... endless.
