I use dehydrated elderberries, grated ginger root, chopped onions, chopped fresh garlic, turmeric, and grated horseradish, and put these ingredients into a quart jar of Apple Cider Vinegar that you let sit for a few weeks. Then strain into another jar adding unfiltered honey to your liking. I take a shot of this every few hours when I am fighting off an upper respiratory infection. It keeps me from developing bronchitis. Many recipes are similar and can be found online of course.
