I'm glad you're saying this. I've been baffled by China's foolish strategy to enfold Taiwan. It's like anyone trying to woo a lover into marriage. Only a jackass threatens the other person... "If I can't have you no one can!" "If I have to rape you I will!" Pretty sure most humans prefer to steer clear of violent or threatening folks like that. If China had an ounce of common sense, they'd find a way to make Taiwan feel safe... cherished... respected... It's a fairly universal way to make friends. Nobody wants to marry an asshole. Bullying and whining and constant claims of "victimhood" are simply not attractive. In fact... it's repellent, and works against China's stated desires. As I said, I'm baffled.
