I agree, but have to point out that Hamas is the source of the "shocking violence" in Israel and Palestine. Its tactics are truly of a piece with Iran's, Russia's, and China's. Israel's response has been well with proportional limits and incredibly restrained thus far. There has been a concerted campaign to attack Israel, including by China, demanding its unilateral surrender to those who wish to commit genocide against it, as seen in US Rep Tlaib's recent string of slander. We have to be more careful about "both sides" logic. Only China's side seeks genocide and slavery.
