I think what they are replacing is the citizen class. Citizens have rights and entitlements, and can vote. Illegal aliens are still technically illegal here. They can't legally vote, have no entitlements, and can be deported if they ever try to stand up for their rights. The oligarchs and their clients will retain their citizenship rights as the only political actors, and the rest of the population will be effectively slaves, serfs, or disposables.

Taxes are only needed on citizens, who have rights. But now, the patron-client class will own everything, and the illegals will work for rent on whatever land the owners allow them to live on.

We've lived for over two hundred years in a democratic/republican system in which we are citizens, with rights. But that all depends on each citizen household being economically self-sufficient, and therefore socio-politically independent. That produces the balance of power that is necessary to preserve rights. But over the past decades, we have become increasingly dependent on government and corporations, and we have let some people become too rich and too powerful. Now the super-rich are buying up all the lines of power in both government and commerce, and using them against us to take away what power and independence we have. Killing off the citizens with poisons we are required to take, teaching us contempt of ourselves, our culture, and our history, while importing millions of foreigners illegally to replace us with rightless non-citizens, is all part of the same power play.
