Even bitcoin is only useful if you can buy things with it. The people (or companies) you buy things from, unlike bitcoin, and the things you want to buy, also unlike bitcoin are real, physical entities. Such entities are easily put under the control of the Powers That Be. And they certainly will do so, if that is what must be done to maintain their Power. Bitcoin, along with precious metals, can be used to try to preserve wealth, perhaps grow it, and as a possible means of exchange. But once everyone is under [their] control, other than trying to create and defend a Gulch somewhere without Galt's magical invisibility system, there are really no options. So the only real option is to defend freedom and sovereignty -- of both nations and individuals. That is a political ploy and is possible, before things get too bad. And it is even possible to undo things like CBDCs. Not easy, might require kinetic action and certainly will involve political action. But all is never lost.
