Watching and bristling. How dare these folks just getting on with getting things done without the help and permission of the federal and state governments! Trust me, someone is going to get punished for this!

I remember back a few years when disaster struck, people with means figured out what they could do and did it. When Texas flooded, the "Bayou navy" mobilized form southern Louisiana, trailered their boats to the flood zone, teamed up with truckers to get stuff to the boats and set about getting stuff done before FEMA figured out who would talk to the press (always the first decision).

Yesterday I heard about similar efforts in NC; the governor (at the urging of the administration) sent state troopers to stop the trucks and turn them around. They were actively preventing people with needed supplies from delivering. They stopped a team for Space-X from delivering and setting up communication equipment - reportedly because they'd been sent by Musk and Trump. a very different situation for sure.

Only government can do it. It must be "authorities" with "proper authorization" or chaos will ensure, you see. If people are not completely dependent (mentally) on government they might start to think for themselves....
