The Quietus thing puts me in mind of the Canadian MAiD campaigns, and of course the values people have (comfort & security, not love & compassion) that allow the Warden to have the power he has... Feels a lot like life before we left the North. I will probably watch the movie after I finish the book. I've never liked the actor who plays the lead, though.
