And those ads may be the incorporated-over-decades hypnotic model for accepting cognitive dissonance as delineated on this substack. I hadn't seen these ads as I hadn't watched tv with commercials in a very long time, but I found them flabberghasting when I finally did. Always some bunch of happy active people smiling, with the (can't recall the word for this) news- ticker- like lines of text running below stating horrible side effects finishing with "even death". I saw one with a tall Hispanic woman inside in the dark, the drug being for weight loss, and one of the side effects being "bleeding from the palms." Bleeding from the palms?? Like the Big Pharma stigmata? Then, the one I still get online, for COPD, "Trelegy". They have such contempt for us that they can embed an insinuation that you will die ("elegy") in a drug name. Just imagine what those constant repetitions are doing to tv watchers' minds. [insert here how I think they should spend eternity]
