I recommend Atlas's book. Yes, it has a completely different perspective on the pandemic than the others I've read. It gives an insider's view of what was going on in the White House and with the COVID Task Force. One surprise is that Atlas gives a lot more space to how terrible Deborah Birx was than to Fauci and also states that Pence was close to her. Atlas tried to make the case for school openings, no mask mandates, and other common sense (scientific) responses, but others around Trump felt that Birx and Fauci had too much influence, and Trump would lose on election day. The one place that Atlas let me down was that he was very much a supporter of Operation Warp Speed and the shots. I don't know where he stands on them today.
