Isn’t a key reason for the ignorance of people on a prescribed path simply because they’re adequately rewarded for doing so? It’s an annoying fact, but far too many Americans do not care what control they are under, so long as they have the house, the neighborhood, the schools, the cars, the budget to insulate them from the sordid reality that they have witnessed from a distance, but believe they can safely evade. This is a big reason why I am convinced that the full force of Caitlin’s ( and a growing number of like-minded writers’ ) relentless deconstruction of the empire’s narratives will only manifest fully when, economically, the proverbial shit hits the fan. This is why the strategies of Putin and Xi, and the governments of India, Iran, Pakistan and practically all of South America are so critical to the cause. Ho Chi Minh taught a valuable lesson to those paying attention. The USG learned that conscription is not a workable plan, and allowing journalists to have full access to the grunts and the designated enemy combatants is too much transparency. The North Vietnamese lost almost 2 million people, and the USG lost 58,000. But the USG got its ass handed to itself...and why? Because you can’t win a war that you simply choose to fight. Osama bin Laden learned the latter lesson. Get the U.S. involved in a protracted military conflict, and counter the narratives doggedly. Together, the people of the Earth who fight for justice and fairness can slay the beast.
