Britain didn't need India to be its colony to still exploit it. And before the Suez War, Britain had not begun the habit of inward gazing isolation. Its relative inability to dictate the terms of Israeli-Egyptian relations was really the evidence that their day was over. And the American empire is comfortable with never winning any of its many wars, but weakening Putin is going to end up being a bitter lesson for all of the Europeans who lent a hand. The U.S. control of the U.S. is not going to be a cakewalk when its money can buy nothing.
