Beijing gets things done because it doesn’t vote. Washington is in gridlock because it does. The American system was designed to limit the power of the federal government and avoid the type of government they have in China. The US federal government has become way too powerful and trying to check that power is proving problematic. I see the CCP as merely an extension of the imperial rule under which the Chinese lived for thousands of years. It’s what they are used to. The more things change the more they remain the same.
