Terrible things happen, like tens of thousands of people getting paid six figures, complete renovation of rundown areas of town, millions of dollars donated by the company towards social services and public art, and massive company-paid infrastructure improvements. Who would ever want something like that? /s I worked for AWS for five years and Amazon Corporate for four more doing their physical security, it was the best job that I've ever had and a great way to cap a career.
