Officers of the club


President – David Fisher

Dave graduated from Mission Bay High School, class of 1957, served in the U.S. Air Force, and retired after 40 years with the University of California, San Diego.

Vice President – David Engel

Dave Engel is part of the Plant-Based Diet Team at San Diego 350. San Diego 350 is an all-volunteer San Diego County organization concerned about climate change. They work to increase awareness of climate change and advocate for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Their organization’s values include: action-oriented; teamwork; collaboration; shared-leadership; respect for people; and peaceful demonstrations. They are San Diegans from different communities, of different ages, working or studying in different fields – some retired – who have come together to say, “Enough is enough. Global climate change is real. We must have a clean energy future. We must do this now.”

Dave is a graduate of San Diego State University and works as a Civil Engineer for the City of San Diego.

Secretary – Mandy Havlik

Mandy Havlik is currently an elected member of the Peninsula Community Planning Board (PCPB). She is a proud spouse of a Navy Combat Veteran and mother of two children who attend Ocean Beach Elementary School and Dana Middle School. She is a proud indigenous woman and is a registered member of the Timiskaming First Nation in Canada. Most recently, she was a city council candidate for District 2.

Mandy is the Secretary of the PCPB, Chair of the PCPB Traffic and Transportation subcommittee, Chair of the PCPB Parks and Recreation subcommittee and the Co-Chair of the PCPB Environmental subcommittee. She is also a member of the Sunset Cliffs Natural Park Council, Point Loma Association, Ocean Beach Town Council Advocacy Subcommittee and Ocean Beach Woman’s Club. She is also a member of the Point Loma Rotary Club and the La Playa Unit of Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary. She is on the Treewatch Earthworks board that hosts EarthFair in Balboa Park. She is also a member of the CA Coalition to Abolish Child Marriage.

She is excited about the opportunity of working with the local community and to continue to make the Peninsula a wonderful place to live and raise children.

Treasurer – Angela Hawkins

Formerly an Associate Vice Chancellor of the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), Angela is an alumni of the University of California Berkeley, former Trustee and Treasurer of the SoCal Jazz Society, San Diego, and a resident of Sunset Cliffs.
