On Monday, Georgia Republican U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker confirmed that he still supports banning ALL abortion, without ANY exceptions, not even for rape, incest, or to save the life of the pregnant person — which Walker shamefully downplayed as “excuses.”
Walker has repeatedly backed extreme proposals to fully outlaw abortion, without any exceptions, and even indicated he’d support such an abortion ban at the federal level, saying he will “vote for any legislation […] even if the legislation is not perfect.”
Republicans are already planning to pass a federal abortion ban should they win a majority in the Senate with help from candidates such as Walker, and he’s a near-guaranteed vote for backing that effort.
Despite Walker’s hardline anti-abortion views, his support for eliminating abortion rights is deeply unpopular in Georgia, where nearly 70 percent of voters oppose the Supreme Court’s Republican appointees’ expected decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
