Visit Arles in the golden days of summer, and you could happen upon a photography exhibition inside a 12th-century chapel–or the aisles of a supermarket. In Dublin, you might find an installation that uses augmented reality to allow you to interact with photographs.
We researched festivals across the world, old and new, welcoming submissions from photographers and exposing their work to large and diverse international audiences. Some are seeking pictures around a specific theme–like hope and regeneration amid the climate crisis–while others are looking for solo exhibition proposals. Some offer cash prizes (in one case, $15,000).
And as part of our mission to provide opportunities to those that support what we do, we’re excited to announce that Feature Shoot will be curating a show at the Indian Photo Festival in Hyderabad, India later this year including work from our premium newsletter subscribers. It's free to submit and we will be sending out the details and the official call for submissions soon.
We appreciate your support and look forward to bringing you more opportunities like this in the future. It’s not too late to subscribe via the button below to learn more about this opportunity and others on the horizon.
Founded in 1970, the Rencontres d'Arles, an annual summer festival, has been part of the photography community for more than fifty years: “From the beginning of July to the end of September, the public is invited to discover some forty exhibitions.” In the past, they’ve had guest curators such as Nan Goldin and Raymond Depardon. This year’s festival runs through September 25th. “Photographers, curators, agents, publishers and gallerists can propose festival projects year round,” the team shares. “Given the very high number of submissions, replies will be sent out only for shortlisted projects.”
