ecorecord

In September last year, WMG and vinyl-pressing plant SonoPress announced a partnership to make ‘EcoRecords’.

Those are more environmentally-sustainable records that use recyclable polyethylene terephthalate (PET) as their base material rather than PVC, saving an estimated 85% of energy costs.

Now the first EcoRecord from this partnership has been delivered: a special pressing of the new album from British artists Liam Gallagher and John Squire.

“We’ve used the past few weeks to meticulously check every production detail, refine all production parameters, and optimize the quality of the finished product, so we could go into regular production at the beginning of the year with complete confidence,” said SonoPress MD Sven Deutschmann.

The EcoRecord is being sold exclusively through Amazon in most parts of the world, as well as JB Hi-Fi in Australia.
