Strategy and Execution

Anti Fund’s strategy revolves around four key insights:

Founders choose Anti Fund because we help reduce the cost of customer acquisition by helping them master an increasingly scarce resource: attention. We also help founders with classic venture capital services like product and capital strategy.

We not only are able to attract the best founders, but also help taste-make and educate on emerging sectors. Hence, we like opportunities that are on the frontiers e.g. crypto, digital health, software infrastructure; or at the intersection of sectors e.g. sports + ML/AI, VR/AR + gaming + blockchain. Our ability to help craft the narrative and help drive education is critical for these types of businesses, and we believe we capture a better risk-reward profile given our direct ability to drive outcomes.

We typically focus on Pre-Seed, Seed, and A rounds, but will back outstanding people working on any opportunity at any stage with a standard check size of $100K-$250K, with ability to upsize or syndicate co-investments in our core positions or incubations with LPs.

Specifically, we implement three main plays:

(1) incubate or take active, operational, and concentrated positions at the earliest stages of businesses where we believe we can build category winners or stand up new categories. Betr, a next generation sports media and gaming business, is the archetype: we incubated the concept, were the founding partners, and invested the first capital into the business.

Betr’s launch was heavily integrated in Jake’s fight with Anderson Silva, including fight shorts, ring logo placement, and event + PPV integrations.

(2) deploy smaller checks into competitive Seed/A rounds with a strong VC lead and win allocation by selling the founders on Anti Fund's differentiated value and network, and

(3) create bespoke opportunities with advisory, warrants, or in-between round deals at an attractive valuation — particularly where we have a unique view and a unique value-add for the business.
