So Traba has a work culture unlike any other. Monday-Thursday 12 hours+ in office. Friday: 10+ hours. Team is expected to be reachable & work outside these hours; including weekends. I have Mike Shebat and Keith Rabois joining me on 20VC in 20 mins. What to discuss? #Founder #funding #business #investing #vc #venturecapital #entrepreneur #startup
Blimey, why Friday for the big push, not Wednesday say? Surely even extremely motivated people want a shorter day on Friday?
If they are clear about those expectations and people still want to join, good for them. Hard pass from myself and anyone that likes actually seeing their children grow up.
Q: why should Traba come before building, improving and/or sustaining health and relationships?
I'm definitely interested to know about employee turnover if those hours are accurate. Pay must be amazing because those hours are bonkers.
My hot take: 60 hour work weeks are fine but never being able to not be reachable is not.
There are two sides to this. Many want to have better balance, if so probably don’t work at Traba. Some would enjoy this and choose to join. They are open and transparent about how they operate. If that doesn’t work the individual then join another company. Remember, everyone’s different……
I saw yt viedo about their story - each employee believes that what they are building will be a ‘’trillion dollar company’’! I guess if they work there - they agree on such a terms - there is nothing wrong that each person has own ,,balance’’ with working hours.
To be honest, that sounds like any other consulting firm, especially the big ones.
Employee metrics & overall business effectiveness: Combo of (employee) turnover, average cost per hire, average time-to-productivity for new hires. Depending on the answers to those metrics: (+) which other aspects did they find that are key factors contributing to their employee satisfaction? (-) or what's their balance between the cost of high turnover and the benefits of (I assume) rapid product development?

5moLove to learn what an employee last culture looks like! What the hourly breaks down to for full time salaried employees working these hours? Is there any data collection or proof that the 20 extra hours yields more gains/outcomes than 40? How does a company that boasts maximizing productivity live by the complete opposite/need this much labor? Are we aware of brain focus times? Or better yet the many scientific studies that show that we can’t function like this? How many of your employees use illegal drugs to meet the demands? How is the wellbeing of your team? Also - not one the founder can answer but curious on the levels of trauma employees have experienced in their lives (there is a correlation between trauma and those that willingly work in chaotic environments where self abandoning is law)
