Dr Melissa McCann, BPharm, MBBS, FRACGP, Graduate Certificate of Allergic Diseases

 

 

Dr McCann started as a Pharmacist working on Kangaroo Island in South Australia, before commencing postgraduate medical education in Western Australia. Since completing her medical training, Dr McCann has worked in Albany and Nicol Bay Hospitals in WA, as well as the remote clinic of Onslow in WA via light aeroplane access. She then relocated to the Sunshine Coast in QLD with her husband and three children.  Dr McCann completed her General Practice fellowship training in Gympie QLD, and finally relocated to the Whitsundays. Dr McCann has built a reputation as a caring and competent general practitioner in each Practice she has worked.  Dr McCann was the first GP to provide services at Whitsunday Family Practice in 2015.

Dr Harpreet Sandhu, MBBS, FRACGP

 

 

Dr Harpreet is a specialist General Practitioner. She commenced practice in Sydney spending several years at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, prior to training for specialist General Practice registration in the Kimberley’s of WA.  Dr Harpreet has recently relocated to the Whitsunday region and loves every aspect of General Practice and finds it a privilege to care for the needs of the whole community from shared antenatal care through to Geriatrics.  Dr Harpreet is currently completing the Graduate Certificate in Allergic Disease with the University of Western Sydney.

Dr Dylan MacLeod MBBS FRACGP

Professional statement

Dr Dylan MacLeod is a Specialist General Practitioner with Fellowship with RACGP. Having spent much of his life in North Queensland, Dylan completed his medical training at JCU in Townsville and has continued to work in the areas of Townsville, Ingham and Ayr. In 2021, Dr Dylan relocated to Airlie Beach and is enthusiastic about living and working in the Whitsundays and exploring the region.

Dr Colin Giorcelli MBBS, MPHTM, FRACRM

 

Colin is a Specialist General Practitioner working in the Whitsunday Region since 2018. He holds a Fellowship with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) and works as a Rural Generalist with Advanced Skill in Rural Generalist Surgery; performing minor surgical procedures, skin cancer surgery, gastroscopy and colonoscopy at Proserpine Hospital.

 

Colin has an interest in skin cancer medicine; performing comprehensive skin checks, simple excisions and complex excisions involving skin flaps/grafts. In addition to his Advanced Skill Training in Rural Generalist Surgery he has completed his Certificate in Dermoscopy with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia to aid less invasive diagnosis.

Dr Kate Anderson BSci (Anat.), MBBS, DRANZCOG Adv., FRACRM

 

 

Dr. Kate Anderson undertook her medical studies at the University of Queensland and began practicing medicine in 2014 at the Mackay Base Hospital. She has extended her generalist training with an Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.

Dr Sarah Tan, MBBS

 

Professional statement

Dr. Sarah completed her medical degree at the University of Sydney prior to relocating to Brisbane for her internship. After further training at Mackay Base Hospital, she travelled around Australia working as a Locum Doctor in several regional hospitals. She has now relocated to the Whitsundays and works full time in General Practice, as well as casually at the Proserpine District Hospital.

Dr Hla Ei Hnin ‘Rose” Si MBBS 

 

 

Dr Rose Graduated in 2016 in Myanmar, in 2020 she complete her Australian Medical Council examinations.

She started working at Mackay base Hospital and in 2022 she decided to follow the GP training Pathway, inspired by her mother who is a GP in Myanmar running a family clinic attached to their childhood home.

Dr Ryder offers a home palliative care service, providing high-quality care and compassion to patients at the end of life.

Dr Amy Tattersall, MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Amy Tattersall is currently on extended leave. We do not have a return date at this stage.

Dr Amy Tattersall is a Specialist General Practitioner with a Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and has been working in the Whitsundays since 2018.

Dr Amy practices in all areas of general practice but has a particular interest in skin cancer medicine, surgical procedures and reproductive health, and brings with her experience working in plastic surgery training environments.

Dr Amy’s extended family are long term locals of the area and Dr Amy is passionate about rural medicine and caring for the local community.
