The Duke Of ADHD –
This book actually made me realize that I want to help other people as well. I hope people can read this and find it as helpful as I did. 20/10!

This is one of my favorite things ever! Not just books, but out of everything. If you have ADHD and are on the fence about this, please just BUY IT and one for a friend! I would gladly have paid 3x the money for this book, it’s been more helpful by far than my ADHD coaching. It was too much for my brain to just start wherever in the book, so I decided (as part of my “miracle morning”-look that up) to just read a few pages every morning, and do any activities applicable. It has been such a great way to start my day! I have always HATED writing, but gave it a go to actually write in the book not just do the exercises in my head and what a difference! I actually look forward to writing now WHAT?!And I have my few comfort pages that I go back to again and again – feels like Dani is sitting right there with me helping me out. Thank you for pushing through to make this book Dani!!!! It’s beyond beautiful and such a fun help!!!

A long procrastinated on review, despite being written on the brightest color on the kanban board.
This is one of the most helpful books in my life, right from starting with finally letting me make peace with The Thing & how I work, and then somehow accounting for how I tend to jump around. I love how relaxed it all feels, which has let me get a lot done & feel more satisfied about getting them done. The sections each hit so many spots that each tab has gotten their own set of sub-tabs. Worth every bit of what I paid including shipping and I gladly bring it around whenever I can. Thank you so much for this book & helping me understand myself better, and also to the How to ADHD channel for letting me know about it.

I am an adult with ADHD. I’ve had it my entire life. It’s not an excuse, it’s not a curse, it’s not a blessing… it just is what it is. It’s the way my brain works. For the past 5 years, I have really struggled to stay on task (probably due to the part of my brain that can only focus when it is having fun, or under immense stress). So I would try to come up with ways to make things more fun. I have bought many ADHD books… you might be shocked to learn that I haven’t actually read most of them, because, well… yeah. I ran across this title on Amazon while I was looking for a different ADHD book. I had never heard of this book, but the name interested me. I was a bit taken aback by the high price point, but impulsivity got the best of me and I got the book.
First of all, the book just looks fun. It looks like a planner, but it is totally not a planner. It is full of drawings and color and even starts with a little story. The book is organized by symptoms so that you can reference a certain section based on the struggle you are having at that moment. You do not need to read it cover to cover. This book is basically a treasure trove of brain hacks for ADHDers… a book with a bunch of strategies to convince your brain to do the adult things by tricking it into thinking the boring thing is kind of fun. It is PACKED full of different ideas. I would guess there are 100-150 ideas in this book. Of course, you are not going to like all of them- some of them I skimmed right over…
But there were about 10 that I loved. And there were 3 I did right away. And there was one that has ALREADY changed my life. Now I don’t think it would be fair to the author to tell what exactly I learned (sharing information for free), but I can say it was something I had never heard of, and actually, at first read, I thought it sounded nuts. Like, something only weird people would do. Then I looked in the mirror and remembered. And I did the thing. And I got done AT LEAST 50% more work than I would have if I hadn’t used the strategy. And that was just ONE thing. If I use nothing else out of this book ever (which I doubt!) it would already have been worth what I paid.
If you are considering this book, don’t hesitate. It might do for you what it has done for me in just 3 days of owning it.
