🙌 Exactly 15 years ago today, I started my first day at ASML! It’s been an absolute rollercoaster that fills me with pride, amazement, love, gratitude and happiness. To everyone who is part of my #lifeatasml in one way or the other—THANK YOU. 🙏 Here’s to many more years of memorable milestones and crazy moments like these… 📈 I saw ASML grow from 7,000 to 40,000 employees 🏗 I watched the construction of huge new cleanrooms and office buildings from my window 🤣 I got through the rough-and-tumble of ASML with plenty of laughs with dear colleagues such as Anouk Donker and Jojanneke Meewis - Strijbos (and many more) ⚙️ I witnessed the trial-and-error of bringing EUV lithography to life, thanks to the efforts by so many people over so many years, like Hans Meiling ✈️ I flew to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2014 right in between two hurricanes, drove 2 hours through torrential rains in the dead of night, woke up to a minor earthquake that scared the living daylights out of me—and then got to interview the legendary Dr. Gordon Moore 🎤 I saw the media FINALLY discover ASML and together with Monique Mols got to work with amazing reporters at BBC, The New York Times, The Economist, NRC, Financieele Dagblad, Eindhovens Dagblad, VPRO, NOS, BNR, The Verge, Anandtech, and many many more 🙋♂️ I helped found Young ASML with no-nonsense doers Peter Peusens and Robert van Dijk 🌋 I once got stuck on the West Coast with 100+ colleagues like René Botter for several weeks because of an erupting Icelandic volcano, which prevented the flight home (a ship was a serious option—until the ash cleared) 🥷 I once co-created an slightly-illegal-but-highly-effective internal wiki for our R&D team with Mark Robinson and Wim de Nood, which promptly became the collaboration tool that helped deliver the first NXT system 🤩 I worked with our top technologists like Jos Benschop and executives like Peter Wennink on countless media interviews—and these moments never cease to inspire me ✈️ I went on a mind-bending, eye-popping, belly-laughing and life-changing world trip of ASML’s US and Asian offices with the amazing Jane Mitchell 🍗 I co-created an ASML cookbook ("Sharing Dishes") with Inne van Ussel from scratch to print, with stories by employees from around the world 🧡 I was the first ASML employee in Brion’s Shenzhen office after the acquisition, bringing wooden shoes and stroopwafels like a good Dutchie 🎈 I got to lead ASML’s 30 year anniversary in 2014, a crazy year of immense effort and amazing results with Trudie Govers, Helena van der Ha and Natasha Yorke-Edgell 🎉 I organized multiple events for 10,000+ employees with folks like Arjan Harms and Martijn van Riel over the years, which included an immense indoor fun fair, a living museum of electronics that I concepted with Jolande Otten and Bouwkeet, and a weeklong celebration of ASML’s diversity 🚗 And I spent way too much time in traffic jams in Veldhoven!

Congratulations Sander! And 15 very cool highlights indeed! It was great to join you in some of those. 🎈ASML’s 30 year anniversary is my favorite major project (too), including projects like Our Stories (with Dr. Gordon Moore among others), ASML cookbook Sharing Dishes, the big ASML Festival including the indoor fun fair (and more) and the Diversity In The Park celebrations at the ASML campus. I always look back on that year with a big smile, Sander, Helena and Natasha 😄

A pretty amazing summary of 15 years! So rightfully proud. I have not worked at, but have worked with ASML and I was and am still inspired by how they go about the many challenges they are faced with. I continue to follow the developments with great interest, amongst other through yout posts/updates/newsletter. So congratulations and keep at it.

I wish I was as proud as you before I left the company. I'm glad it works out for you.

I say your next milestone should be writing a book “15 years of communications at ASML”. I’m pretty sure this will be a rollercoaster to read as well 😄 Congratulations Sander!
