Web3 Incubation Program by Sony Network Communications and Astar
Utilizing Sony Network Communications’ resources and Astar’s expertise, the two companies will jointly nurture Web3 projects through an incubation program.
Startale Labs Pte Ltd (Singapore, CEO: Sota Watanabe, hereinafter referred to as Startale), a company that develops dApps and infrastructure and provides business consulting services based on its expertise in multi-chain protocol development, will collaborate with Sony Network Communications Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Jun Watanabe, hereinafter referred to as Sony Network Communications) and jointly host the Web3 Incubation Program Powered by Sony Network Communications and Astar, which will run from mid-March to mid-June this year.
What is the Web3 Incubation Program by Sony Network Communications and Astar?
The Sony Group operates a variety of businesses such as Game & Network Services, Music, Pictures, Entertainment Technology & Services, Imaging & Sensing Solutions, and Financial Services. As a business company of the Sony Group, Sony Network Communications is involved in communication business, IoT business, AI business, and solution service business, and promotes new businesses by utilizing assets within the Sony Group. In April 2022, Sony Network Communications established Sony Network Communications Singapore Pte. Ltd. in Singapore to engage in NFT-related development outsourcing and consulting businesses.
Startale will co-host an incubation program specializing in Web3 with Sony Network Communications and provide business strategy/tech support to participating companies by leveraging Astar’s development, past consulting, and R&D business expertise. The program will begin accepting applications on February 17th.
The program invites participants from around the world, regardless of their Web3 startup phase. During the incubation program, which will begin in mid-March, the program will include sessions from global VC firms and Web3 companies, as well as business and technology strategy sessions. In mid-June, an offline demo day will be held in Japan during Japan Blockchain Week (*).
The program will also include the following features
- Direct connections and feedback with world-class web3 companies such as Web3 Foundation and Alchemy, as well as free access to informative sessions.
- You will not only have access to the resources of Sony Network Communications and Astar, but you will also be provided with tech support and financial assistance. Promising companies will be considered for investment from Sony Network Communications.
- After the incubation program, the program will include demonstrations with Sony Network Communications and product growth support for the Astar team.
