Celebrities are turning entrepreneurs and there’s a good reason behind it The entrepreneurship bug has bitten celebrities & athletes across the world. They now choose to launch their own brands over promotion deals. Earlier, A list celebs entered into licensing or promotion deals. This essentially means lending their names to a brand for a fixed period of time in return for a Fixed fee + Royalty on sales But things are changing now, and here’s why 👇 ✔️ Firstly, Celebs want full creative control over design, distribution, and marketing. ✔️ Secondly, since they are driving the sales, they want a bigger chunk of the pie, in this case, the entire pie ✔️ Finally, a brand once established will compound over a period of time. A licensing deal is valid only till they’re in their prime. Specially relevant for athletes George Clooney, Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba have launched massively successful brands In India, Virat Kohli launched his clothing line Wrogn, Riteish Deshmukh along with Genelia launched a Vegan meat startup. Since celeb lead brands have a lower Cost of Acquisition when compared to traditional brands, it makes total sense to take the entrepreneurship route and build for the long term. #Celebledbrands #D2C #d2cnerd #licreatoraccelerator

This is the first time political parties in India are taking climate change seriously At least if you go by the emphasis in their manifestos I say its, about time. For the first time ever, BJP has allocated 3 pages out of 69 to climate change and Congress 2 pages. But i sincerely hope the political parties are serious about climate change this time. India is already the 3 most polluted country in the World I don’t know if you remember but China went through a bad phase of air pollution a few years ago. It used to be all over the news. I remember feeling bad for them. It was them then but it's us now We have a lot to learn from our neighbours The Chinese government took drastic measures and has managed to reduce emissions by 42% in 10 years. This is what we need now. Drastic changes. Not fake promises, not half-ass measures. And certainly not eye-washing measures like spraying water and installing air purifiers on the road. We’re already seeing the ill effects of pollution and if we don’t wake up, it may be too late.

Only 7 Countries Had Healthy Air Last Year Yes, you read that right. Out of 195 countries, just 7 had air quality that was good for us. Before I tell you the ones with the cleanest and the worst air quality, this is something that should come to us as a wake-up call. According to most estimates, more people die from air pollution in a year than the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 over three years Even the Supreme Court of India ruled that people have a right to be free from the adverse effects of climate change, which is part of fundamental rights. The conversations around Air Pollution need to be a part of our lives. The Governments only take action when people talk about it. Well, if you want to give your lungs a break, the countries with the best air quality are Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Puerto Rico, Australia, New Zealand, Bermuda, Grenada, Iceland, Mauritius, and French Polynesia Can you guess the Top 3 most polluted Countries? Bangladesh, Pakistan and India

There are 2 types of People: Type 1: Those who Love Mondays Type 2: Those who hate Mondays For folks in the 2nd group, work is just a way to get by. They’re usually miserable for 5 days and wait for the weekends. In my opinion, this way of living doesn't seem great – spending five days feeling miserable for only two days of relief. On the other hand, people who like Mondays are excited about their work. They wake up on Monday ready to take on the world. We look up to them and might think they're really lucky. Work is not just about paying bills; it defines who you are. Work can be cool and fun. Don't let others tell you otherwise.

This small tweak has been a life-changer for me If you want to change a certain behavior in your life, the most powerful way is by changing your identity. It worked wonders for me, and I've used it to change my behaviors. I used to struggle with waking up early, but then I changed my identity to an early riser. When people talk about their sleep habits, I proudly say I'm an early riser. This year, I wanted to start running, but I was not too fond of it at first. It wasn't my thing. What did I do? I started calling myself a runner, and boom, I'm running 5-6 days a week. So if you’re working to change a certain area of your life, you could consider changing your identity a shot. Worked for me, could work for you too

In a world where everyone wants to be an Amazon, you’re better off being Levi’s. Here’s why: I've come across numerous amazing brands in recent times that were built on a single product category. Take The Pant Project Bombay Shirt Company and Atomberg Technologies as examples. The common thread among them is that they all started with a single product category and expanded from there. But why does this strategy work? It's because it allows your brand to carve a unique space in the minds of consumers. Think about it this way: If you're craving a pizza, would you rather go to Domino's/Pizza Hut or Bikanerwala? The secret sauce is specialization. By starting with a specific product and excelling in it, you build a solid reputation. You become the go-to choice for customers when they think of that particular item. But here's the twist – once you've conquered that space, you can expand your offerings. So, if you're a brand founder or aspiring to be one, consider this approach. Begin with a clear focus, perfect your product, and establish yourself as the expert. Once you've won your customers' trust, they'll be eager to explore what else you have to offer. Do you agree that specializing in a single product category can be a game-changer for brands? What other examples come to mind that have successfully used this strategy?

have you heard about the Lindy effect? I came across this principle and realized that some principles work universally Here's what it says: the longer something has existed, the longer it is likely to endure. The effect applies to non-perishable things or ideas, such as Technology, Books, Businesses, Ideas. So if a book has been a bestseller for 10 years, it’s likely to remain a top seller for the coming years too Think about iconic brands like Coca-Cola or Levi's jeans – they've stood the test of time and are still going strong. The Lindy Effect suggests that these brands are likely to stay relevant for years to come. But it's not just the Lindy effect that is keeping the brands relevant, it is the culture of innovation, maintaining the quality of the products and customer centricity that does it It takes decades to build a brand, if you’re on that path, keep going

Do one year-defining thing every year. I heard Jesse Itzler mention this in one of his podcast appearances and it totally made sense to me He says you should take up one goal- personal or professional- every year and go all out on it in that year. This way, you will have stories for each year when you look back at your life. For me, I want it to be a year when I turned our offline first business into a truly omnichannel one. Another thing, he mentioned was: do something that you’ve never done before every other month. Now, if you follow this, at the end of every year, you’ll have one big achievement and 6 memories How about that for living well
