Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki: We are launching an international awareness campaign #StopRussiaNow

23.04.2022

The tragedy of the Ukrainian people who struggle against the brutal aggression of Russia must not be forgotten. Therefore, the government has launched a unique billboard and social media campaign to remind Western European countries of the atrocity of the war that is taking place in Ukraine. Special billboards will appear in many European cities. This campaign aims to stop Russia’s actions by introducing quick and robust sanctions.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki presented the international #StopRussiaNOW campaign

Awakening the conscience of Europe

“We are launching a special #StopRussiaNow billboard campaign to awaken consciences,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stressed. “What is happening on the streets of Ukrainian cities is stirring our conscience, but too briefly. Too soon, our partners in Western and Southern Europe would like to return to normality,” he explained.

As the PM pointed out, what is happening in Ukraine cannot be glossed over. For the reaction to the events in Ukraine testifies to our humanity.

“Seeing the crimes that are happening in Ukraine, we have a special mandate to awaken consciences in Western Europe,” PM Mateusz Morawiecki said. “Germany, France, Austria and Italy must do as much as possible to stop the war and end the financing of Putin’s war machine,” he added.

The PM also said that Poland had donated military equipment worth about 7 billion zlotys, or more than 1.6 billion dollars, to Ukraine. This equipment saves Ukrainian, Polish and European sovereignty.

Only robust sanctions can stop Russia

The sanctions currently imposed on Russia in connection with its attack on Ukraine are not working as they should and are not stopping the aggressor. The Russian economy is not seriously affected, at least in the short term. Ukraine, on the other hand, needs immediate help to defend its sovereignty.

“That is why crushing sanctions are needed, much stronger than those imposed so far,” the PM said. “Our job is to convince our partners in Western Europe to act faster and firmer for a free Ukraine,” he explained.

International awareness campaign #StopRussiaNow

The special #StopRussiaNow campaign informs about the atrocities of war and the bestial killings by Russian soldiers in Ukraine. Billboards will appear in many European cities and include slogans in English and German, among others. The campaign will also be reinforced on social media.

This billboard campaign will be launched in Berlin, Paris and Rome, for instance. In addition, conferences of Polish diplomats will be held in these capitals. In many places, Polish diplomats will be accompanied by ambassadors of Ukraine.

Poignant graphics on billboards call for an immediate end to Russian crimes. The campaign intends to break through the wall of European indifference.
