TOKYO -- Sony Group has partnered with Danish industry heavyweight WS Audiology to develop hearing aids that will hit the U.S. market as early as this year, the Japanese company said Tuesday.

Sony will lean on its prowess in audio technology to design hearing aids that fit snugly into the ears. The devices will also adopt Sony's noise-canceling acoustic technology used in the company's earphones. The hearing aids will be sold under the Sony brand.
