The former head of the British Army, General Sir Mike Jackson, has offered a ''fulsome apology'' for the events of Bloody Sunday, following the publication of the Saville report into the events of 30 January 1972 in Londonderry.

Prime Minister David Cameron has said the killings of 13 marchers was ''unjustified and unjustifiable''.
