New AI Tool Likes Daughters More than Sons? Today I tried a new AI tool, Supermeme.ai. You type in any text, and it gives you memes. I tried a bunch of different phases, and the results were all fun and made me laugh. It's a super cool tool. While I was playing around, I asked it to generate memes on "having three sons" (which I have). The top two results are below, but all the dozens of results were more or less the same - about having wild kids, boys being a handful, etc. I was surprised all the memes was SO negative. To see if the AI tool just assumes/knows that parenting is hard, so all memes about parenting are similarly negative to be funny, I typed in "having three daughters" to compare. The first two results are below, but they were basically all like that - about what a blessing daughters, about having perfect kids, etc. This is SUCH an innocuous search in the scheme of life, but these hardcoded stereotypes built into AI will become even more problematic when we use AI for hiring, college placement, healthcare, etc. If you are trying to solve the problem of stereotypes in AI, I'd love to help advise your startup, give you feedback on GTM, check out your beta tools out, etc. I run a venture-backed startup, I love new product adoption, I've always worked in tech and content. I want to help you! DM, email, whatever you want to get in touch. AI is coming, it will be wonderful, and it WILL make our world better. I really believe that. And when my three kiddos grow up, I want them to see and feel that too!! The best is for sure yet to come.
This is so interesting and wow, I'm glad you found this. It's an important conversation to have and bring to light.
Great insights! As a mom of 4 boys I have watched over the years how men and boys are negatively portrayed and it is hurting them and often makes them withdraw even more!
