What is it like growing up in Israel? I was 9 years old (1991) when Saddam Hussein launched missiles on our homes. Running at nights to the shelters. When I went to school, i took my bag, books, notebooks, pencils and a gas mask... During that Gulf War, Israel did not shoot a single missile at Iraq... When I was 14, every couple of weeks a bus exploded, killing dozens of civilians. Hamas was behind most of those terror attacks. When I drive my car in Israel, I never get near a bus and i keep a distance, just to be on the safe side, because you never know when a bus can explode... When my wife gave birth to our first son, 2014, there was a missile attack (again, Hamas) on our hospital (Petah Tikva), while my wife had an epidural connected to her back/spine and cannot move, she was unable to run / hide in the shelter. Luckily, nothing happened. But I saw 5 minutes old twins in the shelter that day... what a way to start your life... In 2023, some of my friends and family members went for a party. Some of them are dead now... some are luckily safe... 260 (!) were not that lucky and were murdered in this party by Hamas terrorists. I used to go to such parties in the past... so this could have been me... About 1000 (!) other unarmed civilians were murdered (some beheaded, burned alive, etc) and kidnapped a few days ago in the south, including babies, kids, women and holocaust survivors. Israel managed to have peace with our biggest past enemies, such as Egypt. We welcome peace. We have peace with several Arab states - Jordan, UAE and we have kind of a peaceful relationship with others such as Morocco. Things are getting warmer with Saudi Arabia and I think Bahrain, Sudan and Oman as well. We make peace with rational leaders in the Arab world. Hamas is not rational. Hamas is ISIS. Hamas is terror. Hamas kills arabs as well. In 2007, Hamas murdered Fatah supporters in Gaza. Hamas's terrorist believe they go to heaven after they commit suicide terror attacks, having 72 virgins waiting for each Shahid. Hamas's charter calls for the annihilation of Israel. Israel's charter (Megilat Haazmaut) calls for peace with our neighbors: Condemn Hamas, condemn terrorism. (in the picture, a Hamas terrorist, in the building of one of our employees (!) in the city Sderot, waiting to surprise and murder the next unlucky tenant of this building that goes down the elevator)
This is heart-wrenching, Our prayers are with you and your close one Ohad.
Prayers with and for you and all peace loving people.
Truly horrific, Ohad. Impossible for us to comprehend, even for those of us who walked out of Manhattan on 9/11 after watching the towers collapse.
I'm so sorry Ohad, I cannot imagine what you are all going through right now
What a wild story about your wife in that critical moment. I cant imagine growing up with that type of hate and danger so close. My prayers and support continue to be with you daily my friend.
This picture is all over twitter, now. It is 2014 all over again.

7moOur prayers are with every brothers and sisters of Israel. I felt disgusted, scared and deeply sad seeing all the horrors. Being an Indian I can feel the pain. Let there be an end to this once and for all. No country or its people can prosper under terrorism.
