RMRK Ecosystem Report — Sept 2022
Nested Royalties UI released, EVM contracts in review, and more
It was a busy month at RMRK as always. Despite the virulent intensity of the bear, we stayed knee-deep in building. This short post will let you in on what we were up to.
Of the many updates, the most notable is definitely the release of the Nested Royalties user interface. We are particularly proud of this achievement because it took many months of hard work to get to this point. Specifically, most of the time was spent trying to understand the best way to solve the Nested Royalties problem. You can read more about it in this article.
Catch the rest of the updates below. Thanks for supporting RMRK.
Technical Development
- The Nested Royalties user interface was released on Singular. Now users can set royalties for nested NFTs (NFTs that own other NFTs).
- RMRK’s Solidity contracts, the precursor to RMRK EVM-compatibility, were completed and are now in review.
Asides these already finished works, some notable codebases still in progress are:
- Singular EVM — the goal is to revamp Singular to support EVM chains and wallets.
- Singular<>Substrate Pallets — the goal is to revamp Singular to support Substrate pallets
- Skybreach prototype
- UI for creating and managing composable/equipable NFTs
Singular
- A new twitter account was opened for Singular. This account will focus on all the cool artists and projects within the community, creative activities, helpful tips, events, and developments to the platform.
- RMRK 1.0 on Singular v1 (https://singular.rmrk.app/) will soon be gone. You can still interact with RMRK NFTs on Singular v2 (https://singular.app/)
- A new guide for Singular banners was published.
- A new security guide for artists was published How to Identify and Avoid Scams.
- RMRK had the opportunity to present Singular and 2 of our artists (EJVII and XyloDrone) at Rixos Premium Dubrovnik’s 3 month art exhibition.
- RMRK and some select Singular artists were present at the Berlin Blockchain Week.
- Singular artists SKULLZ, Tiff, Ziga, Rubentopia, and apeXchimpz were part of the Art Zagreb exhibition thanks to help from RMRK’s Artist Advocate Katarina Mihalj (who was also on an Art Zagreb panel titled Blockchain Technology as a New Platform for Artistic Creation).
Partnerships and Integrations
- Gear announced integration with RMRK. Technical docs and resources can be found in Gear’s wiki and in Gear’s staging testnet.
That is all for this month. We shall have more updates for you next month. Until then, stay RMRKable ❤️.
About RMRK
RMRK is a next-generation NFT protocol that equips NFTs with superpowers, making it possible for NFTs to own other NFTs, change based on conditions, have multiple outputs depending on context, accept emojis, and more.
With these legos, RMRK enables the creation of the most advanced NFT projects the world has ever seen, while remaining compatible with archaic standards like ERC721 and ERC1155. You can explore this right now on Kanaria, RMRK’s flagship Modular NFT project; join the revolution in Skybreach, a truly decentralized metaverse; or trade advanced NFTs on Singular, the advanced NFT marketplace.
