Online fashion giant Shein intends to construct a factory in Mexico as part of its expansion into the Latin American market and efforts to diversify its supply chain amidst heightened political tension, according to a report by Reuters on Tuesday. The upcoming factory will serve as one of Shein’s manufacturing hubs outside of China, aiming to localize production and reduce shipping time, given that the majority of its goods are currently manufactured in China. Shein has already extended invitations to third-party suppliers to sell their products on Shein’s platform in Brazil, with a similar marketplace set to launch in the US. [Reuters]
