You've Been Using Post-its Wrong Your Entire Life

But today is the day to change that.

When I first learned this Post-it peeling trick, it was as if everything I knew ceased to exist. Was the sky really blue? Was the grass really green? Was anything I thought I knew actually correct? I dramatize, but seriously—this trick is pretty mind boggling.

Most of us, I presume, have used Post-its or sticky notes before. And most of us, I presume again, peel them from the bottom. You grab a stack of sticky notes, hold tight to a bottom corner that doesn't have the sticky material, and rip the sheet upwards. But, as I've learned, there's an inherent issue with that technique. Peeling the note from the bottom up leaves one corner or the adhesive part raised. The problem with that: It can cause the Post-it to not properly adhere to a surface, AKA that reminder to call your mom on her birthday might fall off the wall. See below for how this all goes down, as demonstrated by blogger Jono Hey.

The Post-it lifehack currently going viral suggests you peel the sticky note from the top sticky portion of the pad instead of the bottom. Place your fingers under the left side of the paper, and gently push them under the sticky portion to release the note. Then, pull the Post-it up in one level motion. The sticky note will stay completely flat, and you've avoided the dreaded lifted corner.

Genius, right? I understand if you need to sit down for a few minutes to soak in the full gravity of this lifehack.
