A hearty clap on the back for whoever came up with ‘the metalverse has officially arrived’ as a promotional line for rock band Avenged Sevenfold’s latest initiative.

The band have worked with VR startup AmazeVR (as well as their label Warner Records) to create ‘Avenged Sevenfold VR Concert: Looking Inside’.

It’s a 26-minute performance that’s available within AmazeVR’s app, which can be accessed on Meta Quest headsets but also Apple’s new Vision Pro.

Avenged Sevenfold join the likes of Megan Thee Stallion, Zara Larsson and T-Pain on AmazeVR’s roster – and they’re the first rock band to work with the company.

Fans can watch one song for free in the app, but then must pay $12.99 (a launch price) to watch the entire concert.

In an extra twist, fans who buy VIP tickets to Avenged Sevenfold’s upcoming tour will have access to a lounge where they can strap on a headset and watch one of the tracks from the VR show.

Yes, before catching the IRL show, which is suitably meta(verse) eh?
