Based in New York City, you will be part of Swift’s 10-week internship. During your internship, you will work alongside a mentor and with a team who can help you develop your business sense.

Job Description:
Swift’s Business Development team works with our community to drive the future of the payments and securities landscape. The team supports large, strategic partners as well as smaller users to promote usage and adoption of Swift products/services and industry standards. Business Development also ensures the “voice of the customer” is heard throughout the organization by maintaining strong relationships within Swift, across regions, teams, and HQ functions such as Strategy, Product, Communications, and Legal. To ensure continued connectivity, you will be assigned the following responsibilities: • Work closely with Relationship Managers and Account Managers with their day-to-day tasks, with a focus on supporting existing clients and new client relationships. • Learn about key initiatives at Swift such as: gpi, ISO 20022, CSP, and Financial Crime and Compliance. Support with outreach to clients on these topics where necessary. • Develop client presentations that uncover and synthesize client-specific information or market analysis. Collaborate with product, strategy, tech, and go-to-market teams during the pitch. • Ensure sales best practices, including the qualification process and managing Salesforce profiles (opportunities, leads, pipeline, etc.) • Collaborate with Swift’s Innovation intern to create and present your final project to the Swift management team (see below)

Project Description
The Swift Business Development Intern will have the opportunity to create a real-world project with measurable results. This will serve as their final internship presentation for the department leadership team.
Sibos is an annual conference, exhibition and networking event organized by Swift for the financial industry. The Business Development intern’s primary project will be developing an organized approach to manage Sibos 2024 client interactions. As a part of the conference, there are various one-to-one meetings, exhibitors, community events, networking events, conference sessions, and various other touch points with Swift clients. The intern’s responsibility will be to partner with Swift’s Innovation intern, while also working closely across the team, to ensure all client interactions are organized in one central location well in advance of the event. You will use innovative technologies to create a scalable solution that can be leveraged company wide. The purpose of the project will be to keep senior management briefed on all touchpoints with the region’s clients.
If time permits, you will have opportunities to take on additional projects to present to management (i.e., reporting on YTD KPI progress, etc.).
