Job description

About the Company

Sleeper is building the leading platform to connect friends over sports. Our mission is to create a digital playground for friends to hang out, play games, chat, send memes to each other, and more

Our flagship product, fantasy football leagues, serves over 6 million users. We've since added fantasy basketball, daily fantasy sports, and more. Our team continuously innovates, bringing new games, social features, and extended functionality.

We're on the lookout for individuals with diverse talents; you don't necessarily need to be a sports expert - just be ready to immerse yourself in the space!

About the Design and Research Team Job Location: Remote - preferred locations include Seattle, San Francisco, or Las Vegas metro areas. Willingness to work PST hours required.

We're a close-knit, fun-loving team of designers committed to creating high-quality and user-friendly designs. • We love design. We stay updated with the latest trends and we know good ideas can come from anywhere. • We believe in teamwork. We don't just work together, we help each other improve and make our projects better. • We like to have fun. We're open to trying new hobbies together and even playing computer games together for "research" .

We're looking for people to join our design team at Sleeper who: • Are enthusiastic about solving design challenges big and small. • Are motivated, quick learners, ready to learn new skills. • Enjoy brainstorming creative solutions and pushing the envelope before settling on a choice. • Are okay with uncertainty and are ready to reiterate their designs meticulously to create top-notch user experiences.

What you'll do • Kickoff projects with mini design-sprints with fellow designers to conceptualize new ideas. • Take it to the end-zone with high-fidelity mockups and prototypes so engineers can ship your pixel-perfect designs. • Tackle design bugs and upkeep the Sleeper design system and UI patterns. • Come up with creative marketing ideas that will blow our users' minds.

We're scouting for team players who have... • Are pursuing a degree in a related field; or new grads with around 1 or less years of experience. • Understand fundamentals of UX, interaction and visual design and pay attention to detail. • Have strong collaboration skills and can work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. • May not know everything about product design yet, but willing to learn and grow their skills.

Extra points if you... • Have experience designing for cross platform products (Web, android, iOS) • Know how to use Figma • Have a passion for interaction design • Understand basics of HTML/ CSS

More about the internship... • There will be a small cohort of interns who will have the opportunity to collaborate together and learn from each other, as well as their dedicated mentors and other senior designers • A detailed onboarding process will help interns get familiar with Sleeper's design process, the industry, and ramp up for full-sized projects including a capstone project • Interns who complete the 12-week program will be strongly considered for full-time conversion (we have openings!)

Benefits and perks • 401k and health insurance • Unlimited PTO • Regular game-time to play virtual games and company hangouts • Company-sponsored fantasy leagues with real prizes

Sleeper believes in quality over quantity, and intentionally keeps our team small as a result. In past roles, our team members found it very hard to make a big impact when companies grow too large in size, which has a detrimental effect on the product and the impact any single individual can have. Our team includes designers, engineers, product experts, and finance & operation focused on one thing - connecting people over sports. We believe in fair and equitable pay. Certain locations in the United States require job postings to include a reasonable estimate of the base salary range and/or a general description of benefits and other compensation applicable to the role. For this role in those locations, a reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for new hires is $25 USD to $38 USD per hour. No overtime work allowed, and the contract will be for 3 months or otherwise negotiated. Please note that The compensation range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The policy of Sleeper is to provide equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, citizenship status, age, national origin, ancestry, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected status and to affirmatively seek to advance the principles of equal employment opportunity. Sleeper is committed to being an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers opportunities to all job seekers, including job seekers with disabilities. If you are a qualified individual with a disability or a disabled veteran, you may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Company's career webpage as a result of your disability. You may request reasonable accommodations by sending an email to [email protected].

Headquartered in Las Vegas, NV, Sleeper is backed by Silicon Valley's top investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, and Expa. To learn more, visit us online at: www.sleeper.com
