    Van Gorcum

The future of work is already here, it's just not yet widespread or generally accepted.

In this book Bas van de Haterd explores the new ways of working, new ways of organizing work and the new business models that come along with this. He looks at the practical side of this new world. Not with a vision of a distant future, but by looking at companies that organize work in a different way, one that seems to fit the trends in the market, and have great success.

In a world where a 15 year old boy can make an app that sends an entire company into bankruptcy, where a 12 year old can hack into the a lot of government agencies and cause major damage and where the people working with our company are the only competitive advantage a company has, every organization needs to rethink their organizational model and the way we connect with these people.

The book has been very well received in his home country of the Netherlands. Reviews among others state it's a must read for all management and HR, the author doesn't suffer from visionary pride, but helps the reader understand the new world that's coming and the it inspires to think how labor relations and organizational structures should be forged in the (near) future.

The company seeking new ideas or solutions rewards the best idea out of usually several hundred submitted proposals. The main question in this challenge was: how can we built a system that identifies and recognises hand written and not standardised documents and correctly assign them to both the product or service the client intents it for and the action the client wants us to undertake. This should be done with minimal interaction with the customer and minimal effort from people within the company. Our solution (I solved this with Joost Plattel) was one with machine learning at the hart of it.

The company seeking new ideas or solutions rewards the best idea out of usually several hundred submitted proposals. The main question in this challenge was: how do we transition existing customers in a Business to Business environment to E-Sales. How do we get them from wanting to see our sales representatives to digital business, without losing the advantages of face-to-face sales? My solution had both long term goals as easy to implement steps. With cases from different sectors and analyses what made those cases successful and how this could work for a company in business to business.
