I am conservative and an America-first, based patriot. I'm a Christian, husband of 35 years, and successful business owner in Eagle, Idaho. I'm 62 years old and in excellent health. Most of my work history is in the financial services industry including 23 years with a Fortune 100 firm. Active in my community, I have served on several boards and acted as treasurer in a few of them. I am the founder of TVCOP - Treasure Valley Council of Patriots. I am currently serving as the 3rd Vice Chairman of the Ada County GOP, the largest County Central Committee in Idaho. I was elected by the membership of the Committee in the fall of 2023. My voting record is and will be to support the Constitution and the entirety of the Idaho Republican Party Platform. My belief is this: America is still great but headed in the wrong direction. The career politicians in Washington, D.C. no longer serve the best interests of everyday average Americans. Congress and the President are beholden to lobbyists and special interest groups. My opponent has been in office for decades and needs to retire. I am competent, willing, and able to serve the citizens of Idaho to the best of my ability.

  • America is still great but off track. Our founding fathers did not include term limits when ratifying the United States Constitution. I plan to submit a bill to limit members of Congress to two terms.
  • Stop reckless spending. Our nation is over 30 trillion dollars in debt. We must get back to fiscally sound policy before it is too late.
  • Our rights come from God not the government. Our leaders are failing to follow the United States Constitution daily.

Personal liberty and freedom to live life as one sees fit, as long as my behaviors do not infringe on the rights of my fellow citizens. I am not anti-government but do believe in limited gov't. Our rights to free speech and to bear arms are critical to the ongoing success of America. These rights are under attack by those wishing to "transform" traditional America. Our nation is under attack at the southern border and our current President is fully condoning this violation of both his oath of office and the United States Constitution. I believe in protecting the unborn. I'm a strong supporter of the men and women who serve our country in the military and law enforcement. I believe in free enterprise and market-based policy.

I look up to my father, Thomas Cleveland. He instilled in me all the qualities of being both a good American and a good human being. He is also my favorite veteran. Love you Pops!

Study the founding of the world's greatest nation conceived under God. Read the Declaration of Independence and the amendments to the Constitution.
Freedom and liberty are some of God's greatest gifts. They must be protected.

1. Follow the Constitution of these United States and your oath of office.
2. Gather the facts before making a decision.
3. Respect the difference of opinion inherent in policy and lawmaking.
4. Do not create a solution in search of a problem.
5. Printing more money is just plain stupid and must be stopped.

Honesty and integrity. I am a high-energy person and a faithful husband. I am generous and empathetic toward my fellow man/woman. I also have a strong faith in God.

Serve the people - not special interest groups. It is that simple. Listen to and respond to your constituents always and promptly.

My legacy would be to help turn around America and return it to the type of place that we can be proud of for future generations to come.

Apollo 11 moon landing in July, 1969. I was eight years old and, as you can imagine, really into all things space-related. Yes - my brother and I had our own space suits and helmets just in case NASA needed any help.

My first "real" job was working at the New Mexico state fair in the concessions/food services business. I would ride the bus from school to get to work. My brothers and I would deliver food from the kitchen to each station at the horse races. Then we would move to the nightly rodeo and make popcorn and sell cokes in the stands until the rodeo ended. I would then ride home with my father and brothers. It was a lot of fun and hard work each year. I also worked part-time all through high school at a great Mexican food restaurant and an old-school dinner theater. I have never been unemployed.

The Bible. It's all in there.  :-)

Patience. I like to move at a rapid pace.

The power of the purse. The House can kill spending that Biden has been unconstitutionally funding.

Good government is nothing more than good leadership and good decision-making. Based on current events and the overall state of the nation, I would say previous experience in government may actually be detrimental. Our leaders vote on bills that are thousands of pages long without having read them.

NOT global warming or "climate change". I also don't believe such nonsense that domestic terrorism by American citizens is our greatest threat. Instead, our greatest threat has been the spread of communism and socialism. Nations hostile to America include China, Russia, and the nation of Iran. These three nations are not the only threats to peace and prosperity.

My opinion is that the current two-year term cycles are too short and should be extended.

I support term limits and have no desire to make a career out of my time in the US House of Representatives. I fully support an amendment to the United States Constitution that would require term limits for all members of Congress. I plan to personally sponsor this bill when elected. My proposed limits would be as follows:

1. Each United States Senator would serve no more than two full six-year terms per lifetime. In addition, I would also support an upper age limit to hold this office. We have a minimum age requirement already.

2. Each United States House member would serve no more than three, four-year terms per lifetime. The current two-year term cycles are too short and should be extended.

U.S. Senator Larry Craig represented his constituents, always cut taxes, cut spending and introduced the Balanced Budget Amendment. His constituent service work for Idaho citizens was second to none.

Q -What do you call a wish sandwich?

A- Two pieces of bread and you "wish" you had something to put in it.

Compromise is sometimes needed to get things done. Having said that, one of the biggest mistakes a leader can make is making decisions that satisfy popular opinion - but that are still wrong. Our leaders are not willing to make tough decisions anymore. The thinking and behavior in Washington, D.C. has become too short-term.

My priority would always be to oppose any spending bills unless there was a need that met the criteria of improving national defense, protecting our borders, taking care of our Veterans. I would question the existence of useless agencies like the Department of Education, and so many others that do nothing more than perpetuate themselves. Half of all existing federal employees could be eliminated with no loss of service to U.S. citizens and save the taxpayers billions and trillions in reckless spending.

The House should investigate all of the intelligence agencies, the Department of Justice and any other agencies tied to these entities. They have been weaponized against Republicans, conservatives and Christians for years and these federal abuses against its citizens needs to end today.

Energy and natural resources, Appropriations, Agriculture, Budgeting.

Having good , sound fiscal policy produces a healthy economic environment. When you have a healthy economic environment, businesses tend to thrive. Legislation I will support is fiscal responsibility, lower taxes, and less regulation.

Congress and the President are beholden to lobbyists and special interest groups. I support term limits and have no desire to make a career out of my time in the US Senate. I am competent, willing, and able to serve the citizens of Idaho to the best of my ability,

Thank you for your consideration - Scott Oh Cleveland

The United States Senate is the upper chamber of the legislative branch of government. As such, it has a vital role in shaping the lives of everyday Americans. My belief is that this body should first and foremost serve the best interests of all Americans, not just the political party they represent or other interests. I also believe that a senator can serve the citizens of the state of Idaho well while not at the expense of others.
Unfortunately, in my experience, the elected leaders in Washington, D.C. care very little about addressing the legitimate concerns of their constituents. An example of this is the highly questionable results of the 2020 election. Leaders in both major parties were all too quick to certify what was clearly an irregular election cycle.

Good government is nothing more than good leadership and good decision making. Based on current events and the overall state of the nation, I would say previous experience in government may actually be detrimental. Our leaders vote on bills that are thousands of pages long without having read them.

I have no issues with the concept of filibustering legislation that one opposes. That gives the opposing side time to present their case. The time allowed should be limited and the 60 vote threshold to pass the proposed legislation is not unreasonable.

Each presidential appointee should be thoroughly vetted by members of congress. I believe the current system is a glorified amount of horse trading. At the end of the day the party in control of the senate usually, but not always, approves the appointment. You can expect unending debate about the "fairness" of this process.

Appropriations - I am good at real math and not congress math.
Budget - We don't seem to have a real one anymore. My financial services background would really help here.
Aging - I have worked with older Americans all my life in one way or another.

Q -What do you call a wish sandwich?

A- Two pieces of bread and you "wish" you had something to put in it.

The quality of the decisions they have made in the past. Do they have the temperament to sit in the seat?

I am interested in getting things done for America and the State of Idaho. I am not interested in hanging out in some good old boys elite club or bending the proverbial political knee to the desires of others. I am easy to get along with but am steadfast in my convictions. I have never been afraid to take an unpopular position or to do what I believe is the right thing.

Compromise is sometimes needed to get things done. Having said that, one of the biggest mistakes a leader can make is making decisions that satisfy popular opinion - but that are still wrong. Campaign website

Cleveland’s campaign website stated the following:

Crapo's Reckless Spending

On August 10th, 2021 Idaho's United States senator Mike Crapo joined Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and the Democrat parties ongoing reckless spending spree by voting to approve a massive $1,250,000,000,000 (trillion) dollar spending bill. This pork barrel project is just another example of the poor decisions being made in Washington D.C. In fact, only 11% of this mislabeled package is actually going to anything “infrastructure” related.

Senator Crapo has tried to pass off this Democrat friendly vote as “good for Idaho." Our state will receive a couple of billion dollars over time, but at what cost? How much of this pork actually benefits Idaho? The two billion dollars that Idaho eventually receives sounds like a lot of money but let's look at the true cost. $2,000,000,000 billion dollars divided by $1,250,000,000,000 trillion equals 0.16% of the total. Put another way, 99.84% is being thrown into projects elsewhere. Is this really a good vote for Idaho? This fiscal levitation from Washington will never end unless we vote for new financially responsible leaders.

Covid 19

The Covid-19 virus has had a devastating impact on the entire population of Earth. The U.S. funded, Chinese produced, bio-weapon is unlike anything the world has ever known. The virus has cost millions of lives and untold economic damage across the globe. There are many unanswered questions about the origins of the pandemic and the subsequent response of governments and the medical community. The entire response has been a patchwork of questionable science, bizarre protocols and sadly, the loss of both basic human rights and personal liberty. A safe medical solution may sound reasonable but it should not be at the expense of using one's own best judgment and sense of reasoning.

Government quarantines, mask mandates, gathering restrictions and unproven medical injections have been forced upon people against their will and human rights. It is both immoral and illegal to force Americans to lose their jobs over the personal medical decision not to be vaccinated. The proposed “vaccine passport” concept is nothing short of 21st century medical segregation and must never be allowed in America.

Election Integrity

Many Americans believe the 2020 election was rigged in favor of the democrats. Voter fraud is a very real issue. Liberty depends on free and fair elections whether it’s a race for a local mayor or the president of the United States. Americans must be able to trust the process or our system will break down.

Examples of voter fraud

  • Absentee ballot fraud/ballot harvesting: Allows 3rd parties to collect and deliver ballots in some States
  • Double voting/ballot stuffing: One individual cast more than one ballot in the same election
  • Dead voters: The name of a deceased person remains on a state's official list of registered voters and a living person fraudulently cast a ballot in that name
  • Felon voter fraud: The casting of a ballot by a convicted felon who is not eligible to vote as a result of being a felon
  • Voter suppression: A variety of tactics aimed at lowering or suppressing the number of voters who might otherwise vote in a particular election

How do we fix the problem of voter fraud?

  • Require valid identification in all states
  • Voter rolls registration cross checks
  • Compare rolls to government records
  • Extremely limited use of absentee balloting
  • Complete elimination of drop box voting
  • No late vote shall be counted
  • Voting machines must be controlled by local election officials before during and after every election cycle
  • Random, full forensic audits of no less than 10% of votes by county
  • Secure voter verification system: The ability to check that your vote was counted correctly for the candidate you selected
  • Protect the future of the Republic: Develop a decertification process at the state level

These measures will help secure future elections and reduce the amount of voter fraud in America.

Border Security & Immigration Policy

The current state of our southern border is a complete travesty.

Immigration is one of the fundamental building blocks that has helped make America a unique nation. But the debate over border security and immigration has become toxic as politicians put politics before principle. Unfortunately, Americans find themselves trapped between zealots on both sides. For over two centuries the United States has welcomed millions of people from every corner of the globe. Today we admit over one million people each year into our country, more than any other country in the world.

American sovereignty respects a rule of law that is beneficial to all Americans, but we cannot compromise our national security and public safety. A chaotic immigration system encourages people to go around the law. It is a clear invitation to those who wish to take advantage of our open borders especially in a time of terrorist threat.

America must preserve patriotic assimilation. Failure to enforce immigration laws is unfair to those who obey the laws and follow the rules to enter our country legally. Those entering our country illegally should not be rewarded with legal status which only encourages further illegal conduct.

Based on these principles, immigration reform should include transitioning to a merit-based system that no longer includes chain migration, birthright citizenship, and an arbitrary Visa lottery per country. Any form of amnesty for those in the United States illegally should not be rewarded.

Lastly, people in our country illegally should not receive public assistance such as food stamps, housing payments, and other entitlements.[3]
