As we stead closer to the launch of our Cricket Strategy Game, we bring to you the third segment of our game explainer series.

While the game has some basic similarities with mainstream fantasy cricket given that points are scored based on players’ performance during a match, D3.club has a much greater scope for strategic gameplay to engage fans both during and beyond a live match.

We decipher the various ways in which D3.club promises to create a whole new experience for cricket fans:

Team Building

⇨Team Size

In D3.club, you need to make a team of 3 players to enter a contest as compared to putting up an 11-member team in regular cricket fantasy.

The Player Cards at a user’s disposal in their vault are the player choices from which the team of 3 needs to be built, while in regular fantasy, all players partaking in a match can be picked by a user.

⇨Selection Accuracy

This creates a greater number of player combinations to score high points in a given match. Usually, at least 6–7 players out of 22 on the field perform well in a match.

To win in fantasy cricket, you’ll likely need to accurately pick all of them in your team, and missing out on even one could prove detrimental. But in D3.club, you only need to have 3 and sometimes even lesser players to score good points, and you would likely end up with a healthy point tally.

⇨Player Scarcity

Another interesting dynamic worth mentioning here is that of player scarcity. Normally, a player with an extraordinary performance such as scoring a century or taking five wickets becomes a prerequisite for you to stand any chance in a fantasy game with every user having access to picking that player in their team.

In D3.club, only a few users will own that player — through a limited supply of each player card in each tier — so there’s still a reasonable chance to compete on the leaderboard for those who don’t have this player.

Entry To Contests, and Utility Beyond the Game!

⇨Free Entry

Instead of having to pay an upfront amount against the immense competition every single time in fantasy cricket, in D3.Club you just have to purchase Rario’s Player Cards once to add a particular player to your vault.

Provided you own the required tier of player cards, you can take part in as many contests that you want for free getting a chance to win prizes up to $125K (₹1CR) at CPL 2022.

⇨Future Utility

In fact, the same cards can be used in future cricket leagues and tournaments as well. So in a way, you reap the long-term rewards of playing with Rario Player Cards beyond a league. On the other hand, fantasy cricket is generally confined to a particular match.

⇨Marketplace

Not to forget, the immense power of the Marketplace, which acts as a platform for you to sell surplus cards, or even in-form players at a premium if you wish to replenish your vault with a new strategy.

Limited Competition & High Winnings!

⇨Limited Supply

In our cricket strategy game, the contests with the highest rewards, are gated by the ownership of high-value player cards that are scarce in supply, thereby limiting entry to these contests.

⇨Maximum Winnings

Hence, higher the tier of the contest, the fewer the people who have access to it, and the greater the chances of users winning big. This is in stark contrast to regular cricket fantasy where higher reward pools are proportional to greater competition.

Game Scoring

⇨Fantasy

Points in fantasy cricket depend totally on the performance of the picked players in a match. So if 100 users have picked ‘Player X’, the player would score the same number of points for all these users.

⇨D3.club

But D3.club adds differential elements such as the ‘Tier Boost’ and ‘XP Boost’. The score of a Player Card is amplified based on its tier as well as the accumulated XP on it. So different users can end up with distinct scores from the same player’s performance, depending on the tier and XP of the card they own.

The game rewards tactical allocation of resources that you own in your vault — in-match performance is only a subset of the value a particular card adds to your point tally.

We can already smell your strategic mind brewing!
