David, you forget the power of Fox News & the news outlets that spew negativity. H/W had to fight 40 years of misinformation, lies & Elon’s starlink. Changing minds after many years of misinformation is a hard task.

She is smart, engaging,interesting

High quality like magazine itself though you can detect flaws in interviews mostly in terms of blatant preconceptions. E.g. Remnick is smart & excellent but clearly comes 2 interviews w/ biases & preconceived ideas about the interviewee. And some programs fall flat such as recent interview of Kaitlin Collins(ie, mostly softball qs as if too afraid 2 ask tough qs.)

Great interview David & NYer. Objective perspectives like Shotkin’s help interpret the situation in historical context, which unfortunately social/modern media distorts to polarized hysteria. Thank you for the balance.

He’s a bit out of touch. Nickel Boys was a mess and was entirely unenjoyable. Megalopolis was only enjoyed by Brody. Remnick’s take on A Complete Unknown is silly and superficial. I hate the name Merrill Garbus.
