Donald Trump is an avid music lover, controlling both the playlist and the volume of tunes at Mar-A-Largo and some of his golf clubs. Now, his hit-laden playlist is revealed.

As reported by Axios, Trump calls the tunes at Mar-A-Largo, his posh Palm Beach club. So much so, when the former president is selecting the songs, “regulars jokingly call it the ‘Deejay T’ performance,” the article states.

The songs Trump turns to time and again also “provide a telling lens into his style on much bigger stages…capturing his obsession with a few familiar hits — controlling the volume, never changing,” Axios writes, adding:

“It’s the musical ritual that really captures Trump.”

Confidants of the former president and front-runner for the 2024 GOP nomination tell Axios: “He seems like a kid with a new toy every time he turns on that iPad (used to oversee the playlist). It feels like the first time he’s heard or shared the crooning of (Frank) Sinatra or the life-hard-lived edge of (Johnny) Cash.”

Trump often plays his favorites at max volume, too. “Sometimes it’s so loud that people have trouble talking,” the Axios piece reports.

So what are the go-to-tunes for Trump?

First, the long-time hotelier spins some “golden oldies,” the Axios report says, citing these songs as nearest and dearest to Trump:

“Phantom of the Opera” ... “Jesus Christ Superstar” ... and Elvis, especially “Suspicious Minds.” Plus “Hello” by Lionel Ritchie ... Guns N’ Roses’ “November Rain” ... and the duet by James Brown and Luciano Pavarotti, “It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World.”

Another signature song on Trump’s most-played list is Sinéad O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U,” the article continues, adding: “REM snuck in a couple of weeks ago. Elton John’s another favorite.”

But one tune stands above them all for the 45th president, who’s seeking to become the 47th: The Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

Axios even went to the trouble of collecting all the former president’s favorite tunes on an unofficial playlist, which can be found here.

The article also provides a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what Trump’s like when he’s holding court and playing host at Mar-A-Largo.

“Trump is very proud of the dinner buffet. He pushes the specials,” Axios writes.
