Excellent book. Well researched. It has a lot of great information for gardeners and historians.

Think urban farming is a new thing? Check out this book about war gardens in America in 1917! Great photos of gardens, war propaganda (can the kaiser--and tomatoes), and proud urban farmers holding gigantic cabbages.
