Amy Rigby
Amy Rigby
Amy Rigby has been writing, performing and recording her transcendent songs about everyday life for over thirty years.  A teenage denizen of CBGB who fell in love with country songwriting, she started bands Last Roundup and the Shams in NYCs East Village before launching a solo career with album Diary Of A Mod Housewife. Her song "Don't Break The Heart" was recorded by Laura Cantrell, and All I Want was recorded by Ronnie Spector and included on The Very Best Of Ronnie Spector. Amy continues to tour and release new music including 2018 album The Old Guys, single The President Cant Read, and Vote That Fucker Out (2020, with husband and sometime duo partner Wreckless Eric). Her first book, Girl To City: A Memoir was published in 2019.

Amy Rigby sets the small details and bigger truths of everyday life to music. From her debut Diary Of A Mod Housewife to her most recent album The Old Guys, shes tackled themes associated with country and folk getting by; getting along from a rock music fans perspective. Her honest, imaginative songs and performances take listeners places they dont expect to go and leave them smiling, tearing up and nodding in recognition. Celebrating creative heroes (Dancing With Joey Ramone; From Philiproth@gmail to Rzimmerman at aol dot com) to marital torpor (Are We Ever Gonna Have Sex Again) and love for the whole damn world (Dont Ever Change) well maybe not the whole world (The President Cant Read)Rigby tackles the feelings and foibles of modern life in arresting lyrics, on acoustic, electric and 12 string guitars. Her enthusiasm for pop, punk, psychedelia, garage and good old songcraft spill out on record and across the stage.

Her whimsical, often autobiographical songs are masterful. Funny and enticing, she is up there with the likes of Paul Simon and Randy Newman.
