  • Four whale artworks produced by top Korean illustrator Chul-min Lee to be unveiled at Blockchain Week in Busan on October 27, 2022

October 28, 2022, Korea — Crypto.com, the world’s fastest growing cryptocurrency platform, announced today that it has signed an MoU with global content studio ‘A Story’ and A Story’s IP business subsidiary AIMC to develop NFT collaborations. With this agreement, the two companies will cooperate on promoting NFT projects based on productions by A Story.

As their first collaborative project, the two companies will develop the ‘Extraordinary Whales Club’ social NFT series – a NFT project based on the Korean drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo. Extraordinary Attorney Woo is a drama about the life of new lawyer Woo Young-woo (played by Park Eun-bin), who has both a genius brain and Autism Spectrum Disorder. The drama has gained popularity for covering various social issues through unique storylines and messages. The ‘Extraordinary Whales Club’ social NFT series, which will aim to help raise awareness on Autism Spectrum Disorder, will be released later this year through Crypto.com NFT marketplace as the first project in this collaboration.

The two companies held an MOU signing ceremony at the Blockchain Week in Busan Networking Dinner hosted by Crypto.com on October 27, which showcased four artworks produced by top Korean illustrator Chul-min Lee. One of the pieces were auctioned at the event, while the other three will be auctioned at a separate event later this year. Part of the proceeds will be donated to both the marine environmental group Hot Pink Dolphins and Autism Korea.

“Through this MoU we want to provide fans around the world a new digital experience in the age of Web3—of being connected with their favorite Korean content,” said Patrick Yoon, General Manager, South Korea at Crypto.com. “We will collaborate with A Story to discover new ways to promote Korean content and creators around the world.”

“We are excited to announce a meaningful social NFT project for Extraordinary Attorney Woo, the top global K-drama of 2022, at Blockchain Week in Busan with Crypto.com,” said Se-min Han, President of A Story. “In the future, we will launch more NFT projects together that can also have a significant social impact.”
